Kluessendorf, Jerome
April 10, 1942 - March 19, 2022 Jerry was a lifelong resident of the Genesee area. When young he worked on his grandparents' dairy farm and at his father's service station. where he learned to enjoy working with his hands. He also was active in Boy Scouting. At WHS he served on the Student Council. After graduation he briefly attended UW-Whitewater but saw himself best suited for a career as a craftsman. So in 1963 he began working at the Waukesha Foundry where he would have a career for more then 40 years. After taking training at WCTI, he became a wood pattern maker making precise wooden models for pieces to be made by casting. Jerry had a home woodworking shop in which he made wood creations for family and friends. After retiring in 2007, Jerry had more time for his avocational interests which included community service. He was a li censed EMT, served on the Wales-Genesee Fire Board, was President of the local Lions Club and lead the renovation of the Genesee town hall.
With his first wife, Madeleine, he had two sons, Joe and John. After her death in 1975, he took a second wife, Lucy, and merged her family with four children with his. Jerry and Lucy were together for the remainder of his life. Their family eventually totaled 15 grandchildren. During that time, the family maintained a cottage in Door County. All the while, Jerry kept busy collecting model tractors, playing cards, bowling, and doing family RV traveling. A busy life devoted to family and community. |

After Highschool I attended UW Oshkosh where I met Tom. We were married 46 years ago. Tom and I have 3 beautiful children, Michele Suzanne, Tomas Abbott and Mitchell Allan. We have 10 splendid grandchildren ranging in age from nine to twenty two. If i'd known how much fun grand children are, I'd have had them first, as the saying goes. We have also had many wonderful Boxers, Clifford being the perfect one, plus Cleo, Morgan, and tequilla all passed away. Now, Reiley and Brodee keep us busy. After college we moved to Milwaukee, then transford to Troy, Ohio. After a few years we moved back to West Bend, then to Onalaska and finally to Idaho. We've been her for 30 years. We live in a place called Swan Valley. It's a beautiful valley on the South Fork of the Snake River with mountains surroundiing it. Four wheeling, snow mobiling, floating the river and campnig are our favorite pass times. We've had a wonderful life together. I'll talk about it to anyone interested when we see everyone. I want to take time to tell the committee what an amazing job you've all done. The web site is excellent and the planning that has gone into this reunion is just wonderful. Thank you so much. I am excited to see old friends and look forward to our fiftieth reunion. See you there, Lee Abbott Smith |

Many years ago, while talking to my mom about her up-coming 50th class reunion from Bay View High School, she said they were having daytime events. And I thought " of course that's what you do when you're that age". Now that I'm also "that age", I can't conceive of that notion. I've worked on all 8 of our class reunions and realize they become more important with each one.In the past few years, I've been fortunate to have a nephew and niece chose destination weddings, one in Costa Rica and the other in the Grand Caymen Islands. I was the oldest in a group of 20 people to go zip lining in the Costa Rica forests. My brother Scott and I celebrated our mutual birthdays together at the Grand Caymen wedding by swimming with the stingrays. What a thrill! My daughter-in-law and I went parasailing in a 2-seater while we were there. It's been something I've wanted to do for so long. I believe we have to be ready to embrace life's challenges and check them off our "Bucket List". I'm looking forward to September with great anticipation. Please express your appreciation to Karla Piepenburg Meyst for her dedication to making this the best reunion ever! |

50 years already, where did it go? After graduation I moved to Milwaukee and lived there for about six years, before we packed up and moved to California to get some warm weather and sunshine. We lived in California for about seven years and then made another big move to Washington State. We lived in a little town in the foothills of Mt Rainier called Enumclaw. We loved it there but then moved to Bellevue to be closer to work. After 20 years in Washington we went off in search of the nice warm sun again and ended up in central Florida where we lived for twelve years and then decided we really wanted to live near the ocean, so five years ago we moved to South Florida and now live in Sebastian, a sleepy little fishing village. Bob and I have been married for 40 years, we have a combined family with 9 children, 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. I work at our local medical center as the Pathology Office Coordinator and love my job and have no plans to retire at this time. |

![]() ![]() I started nursing in college, finished up in business which took me from Tucson, to Albuquerque, Phoenix, San Francisco. I left the corporate world & moved to Bend, Or. where I met and married my Jim 21 years ago. We sold our business 4 years ago and now have the time to do everything and sometimes nothing at all!
I have happily reconnected to my piano and my paints. Our two children live in Bend, Or. No grandchildren. We live in the country on a river, we’re an hour from the ocean. Life is truly great.
Sorry I can’t be there this time. Thanks to all for your good wishes. And to all that put this together. It’s wonderful.

Enjoying retirement after 31 years of working in offices as legal secretary, executive secretary, executive assistant. Enjoyed all those years of doing the job I wanted in my life. Have been happily married to my husband, David, for 44 years. We have one beautiful daughter, Rebecca, and two great granddaughters, Jenna and Corrine, who live in southern California, a trip of only 705 miles each way. We try to visit them as often as we can. We have a lovely home with enough backyard for a beautiful garden -- our hobby. In addition, we have a dog named "Lady" and a cat named "Buddy". They manage to keep us busy as well, and we consider them to be our current four-legged "kids". Life is good! Hello to all my classmates! |

We have been married for almost 50 years but have only one grandchild who is now 30. We retired and built our home in the northwoods near Spooner in 1996. It is in the middle of the forest with no neighbors except 4 legged critters who visit often. I enjoy gardening, reading, quilting, walking and hunting. |

This is a true story:I found an old photo of myself with a cute collie puppy. For weeks it bothered me because I could not figure out whose puppy it was. Finally, it dawned on me that I could probably look in my diary. I did find it. The dog belonged to our then next door neighbor. It was 1956. The real point is while browsing thru the diary afterwards I came upon this: Wed., April 6, 1960 - "We had the AFS Auction at school today. Mike Rose paid $6 to get a wheelbarrow ride to two classes. . ." I laughed and decided I had to share the memory. What fun we had. Mike, you were a good sport then and still are with all you're doing for our 50th Reunion. Many thanks to you and the committee! My husband Jack and I have lived in the same house for 39 years; too much work to move so we added on. I enjoy working in the yard on my various landscaping projects while he chops wood for the fireplace insert we use in the winter. Our two sons and two grandsons are living closeby and we get to see them often. We playedtennis on state league teams, tournaments, etc. the first 20 years of our marriage. Now in retirement he plays golf and we hike in the woods and parks and are very busy all the time it seems. My husband's 60th HS class reunion will be a week before ours, in Wausau; we should be able to make both events. Hello to everyone! |

Attorney at Law

Since leaving high school, I attended Kalamazoo College, the University of Michigan and the University of Chicago. Along the way, I taught English Lit at Drake University, and practiced law in Milwaukee for 25 years, before moving up to Door County and opening an office in Sturgeon Bay nine years ago. During this time, I have also done the Legal Aid Clinic for Door County.I married twice and have two children, one still in school. My daughter spent 2 & 1/2 years in the Peace Corps in Africa, and now recruits for them in California. My son studies acting in North Carolina. Since moving to Door County, I've become active in community theater, writing, publishing and teaching poetry, sailing and training for triathlons. I just moved into town after living in a small cabin that I built myself on thirty acres of woods I own in the center of the county. The condo I bought is right on the Sturgeon Bay ship canal, where I also keep my boat. I hope to finish a book, next year, about my experience of spending nine years living off the grid. My first book of poetry will also be published later this year. Here's my poem for our reunion: In Memoriam, Class of 1960 The emptiness of names not lived in nor with us stirs echoes of feelings that can no longer warm us but reach into hollows once filled with their hopes for our present and ours for their touch. |

I am still teaching part-time at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the Business School about "Yikes" financial markets. During the summer I play golf on occasion about 5 or 6 days a week. I have been married to Jane for 43 years. Otherwise I would be a clueless male wandering the earth. We have two wonderful children, Rob and Rebecca. |

Since high school graduation I have been involved in agriculture. Progressing from hired hand to consultant with time spent getting a degree from the University of Wisconsin, marrying another Waukesha South graduate (Nancy Oeser) and raising 4 children on our own Grade A dairy farm in Sauk County, Wisconsin. I have performed consulting assignments in Ukraine, Somalia, Mexico, Algeria and the Russian Far East. Currently, I am an independent organic farm inspector/document reviewer, having worked for 7 different organic certifiers in 9 different States. Nancy and I live 3/4 mile off the blacktop in Northern Wisconsin, gardening, watching the wildlife and enjoying our 10 grandchildren. Reviewing the life histories of fellow classmates was very interesting. Great job on the website. Enjoy the festivities. |
